Travelling from the Trang to the Langkawi island in Malaysia

It was a long day. But let us describe it just briefly. So as to potentially help others willing to travel the same route.

7:00 out of our hotel, tuk-tu driver asked us and after agreeing on 80 THB took us some 4km to the bus terminal.

7:30 unloaded, bought a ticket and were instantly leaving for Satun in a van just for ourselves. 120 THB/person; had to pay the same for Tad, Oliv free.

+- 10am unloaded in Satun on a spot where a pickup loaded us just a few minutes later. 20 min. +-10km ride to the Thammalung pier. 60 THB for all.

Boat that we were expecting to take us, the 13:30 one, has been cancelled (since 10.1.). So had to wait for the next (and last) one till 15:30. Tickets: 350 THB adult, 280 kid, 100 infant.

We have shorten our waiting by discovering a very nice walk in the near by mangroves. (Thanks god for that as it has become a bit of spin-off fight with Tadeáš. Bored, tired, annoyed, not listening, not reflecting, provocative, hard to deal with in any reasonable way...).

Observed small crabs, 1m monitor lizard and many mudskippers (a walking fish).

After returning to the ferry building we have had a simple lunch. Especially counts for Tad as his prefference was just a plain rice and pure water. Good that sometimes the kids can even help our budget..

Boat took some 70 minutes. Must have been as an eternity for Tad as he was even trying to stay on his head there.

Immigration/Emmigration procedures on both Thai and Malaysia sides pretty straightforward and smooth. (5-10 min.)

Last stage. Taxi from the pier. Some guy catched us asking if we need a taxi. Starting at 40RM (1 RM = 5.2 CZK). I was prepared (asked while exchanging booking messages with our place to stay) so we initially agreed on 30 as this should be a standard price.

As it turned out the guy went to the pier to pickup -as he said - his grandfather and brother with wife and baby. Definitely he wasn't a taxi. Nevertheless, he had a 7-seater easily fitting 6 adults and 3 children. (No child seats naturally..)

30 minutes, 10 km and 25 RM ( I just had to ask for a discount) later, almost 12 hours from the morning start, we have reached our Langkawi guest house.

(Yes, taxi transport should be cheap here.)
