Trang city

Someone might object that heading directly from Bangkok to Trang was too much travel an was not necessary. But for us, staying here for a nigh before heading forward, was a practical choice.

More and more we prefer not to stay in a city after landing in a new country. It is much better to make one more step further to have a chance of getting used to a different culture and style in some smaller place.

Trang is a regional town with one main street (from a train station to the little Big Ben clock). We would not say that there is anything particularly special or highly interesting here. (Probably would be, but it is not on us to explore it now). But, staying downtown means everything needed is in walking distance, simple and stress free. Similar to Brno*, but even smaller. So, similarly, we like it.

After a necessary 3h nap (immediately following the arrival) and while others still sleeping it took me no more than an hour to organise everything needed for the first days and moving onwards. Buying our next move travel tickets without any ripoffs tryouts, for a fair price, at the first place I have asked. Exchanging money in one of the banks (4 or 5 around) and buing some things we wanted and needed.

Staying in the "My Friend Hotel**". Family room on the fourth floor. 1dbl bed and two single beds. Which were transformed into one large sleeping space. With a spacious veranda. Simple, but practical. Kid's can play here (well..ok, the dead bat needed to be discussed .. and removed..) and there is a view and a fresh breeze. Good for an evening drinks too. (Had to be careful not to get drunk; which is, by the way, very close to how this city name should be correctly pronounced.) And there is a good wifi and free cofee/tea. Plus very nice and helpful owners.

(Someone might object the cockroach was here too. But first, we're not hysterical and second, how better to teach kids what the cockroach is than meeting the living one.)
