Rain forest inn: The secret unique place to stay

We had decided to come to this place even it was a bit over our "per-night" budget. On pictures it just had been looking very attractive and exactly fitting to what we do prefere = simple and close to the nature. So different from the rest of accomodations options. Plus there were 9+ ratings on the Booking.com.

The owners, one Chinese origin and one local Orang Asli, wants to keep the place a bit hidden. So we first had to agree on a meeting time and place at Ringlet township and than drive over 10 km to meet a staff person to take us to the place itself.

It is a relatively large and well maintained garden-like area with a few bamboo and ratan made simple native buildings. Actually almost everything here is made of bamboo and ratan and makes a natural impression.

We were sleeping in a four-mattres good mosquito net and not much more space one. But there was even a hairdryer for use and a mirror. And electricity plugs. No WiFi thought;)

After our arrival we were offered a cup of tea. We are still not sure whether a simple teabag in the tea region is the best option for that, but it's actually the only improvement comment we can have.

After we wandered around and had a dip in a clean stream flowing through the area. They have even natural bamboo shower there.

When the evening came we were served a trully big portions of a local diner. (30 RM a portion). Soup, rice, fish, chicken, tapiok and more. Trully delicious. Made the original way and cooked in a fire inside a bamboo. If anyone is going there we definitely suggest to try and enjoy it.

Smoky fire has been made close to our dining table and a water with the lemon grass on top of it to repel mosquitoes.

When the dark came Lukas and Tad headed for a nice night walk around to discover several different caterpillars, green frog, geckos, snails, locust and various small bugs.

The nigh sleep was good with a neverending constant sound of a waterfall located near the bungalow.

In the morning we had been served great, rich and yummy local breakfast. (One day more of noodles the other day more of traditional fried sweets. And fruits.)

After the breakfast we were invited to try how to shoot with a blowpipe, which local people still use to hunt. Followed by a demonstration of several, very well functioning, traps. The best hunter of this family would probably be Kaczi. Tad was so excited by it that we had to buy one small blowpipe to bring home. He wants to demonstrate it in his kindergarten. The money should be used to support local community.

The whole stay was really pleasant and we can easily imagine staying longer. Tad was actually offered to stay for a year to learn some of the local tribe culture and know-how. So, let's see..

The owners are definitely doing a great job and walking on the righ path. They are always ready to talk, consult and help. Thinking sustainable, environmental and local.

Our rating 10/10!
