Ko Kradan little adventures

Kradan is a small island considered to be one of the finest for the from a beach snorkeling in Thailand.

Going from Trang to Ko Kradan was pretty easy and straightforward. Van picked us and after an hour ride we transferred onto a bigger long-tail boat.

Though it was raining both kids showed a good spirit and positive vibe and wanted to stay outside a roof-covered area to observe the sea. Two little pirates in a raincoat jackets. One with a fist skeleton tatoo on his neck.

After another hour or so we were here (450,- THB/person. Olive for free.)

Ko Kradab is quite limited in number of accomodation options. So, apart from daily island hopping turists who come and go between 10am - 3pm it is relatively quiet and relaxed too.

It is an island therefore all the prices are much higher than in the mainland. Cheapest, simple but tasty Thai food is probably in Ao Yang resort (100THB). Median food price 180-250THB. Beer 50-130THB. (We've wisely stocked ahead and brought some own).

The weather is, to say, fully tropical. Been raining the whole first day. Now it is showing both faces. Fully sunny and heavy rainy. Meaning, we have one wet set of clothes for outdoors & swimming and one dry for indor&sleeping now.

Thanks to this weather we have already managed to have a nice barefoot walk in flooded rainy rainforest. And heavy downpour swim in the warm Andaman sea. Olive lying on her back, wearing swimglasses, watching the drops falling and singing "To je ale paa-raa-daa, hra-je-me si naa haa-daa..."*. The song she knows from her swimming lessons.

Snorkeling is really nice for what we can compare to in Thailand. (Yet, hard to beat the Red Sea). Been snorkeling with Tadeas (on a floating mattress) and apart from others managed to show him his first moray eal, "Nemo" clown fish family, parrot fish, (wow, a tree has just fallen down not far from our bungalow...) and many other colourful (and common) ones.. I have also managed to see big (0,5m) tuna fish, moonfish and porcupine fish.

Our outdoor activities also include nigh "naturalist" walks with headlamps on the rainforest paths. Seen some spiders, millipede, snails, ants, cicadas old skins (had to take some with us) and couple of rats. And a frog. But frog can be easily seen it in our bathroom too.

We like it here as it is easygoing and good for post flight relaxation.

*"It is really great, we play to be a snake..."
