Johor (the sleepover) city

We can't say we know much about the Johor city. It's only been a sleepover place for us before and after our travel to/from the Singapore. As it is also for many locals who daily commute to work there. So let's just focus on our accomodation in this post.

"5 star homestay" is the name of the place we had found on the booking.com. And it's true to it's name. Double bedroom flat in the 26th floor (out of 52!) on one of two towers of the Setia Sky 88 condominium. Clean and modern. Security guys do salute on every single occasion here. There is a big pool and a small playground in the 8th floor. Also a saunas (men/woman) and a steam saunas. Plus the BBQ space. To be exact, two of them, one halal and one non-halal. Additionally, on the 9. floor you can find a gym, a squash court, a theatre room, a reading room, a music room (with a piano and a full set of drums) and several other "meeting" rooms. And, to continue, in both towers: Level 42 : Dip pool and Sky Garden. Level 43: Gym, Pilates studio and Sky Garden Level 44: Gourmet kitchen (for advanced cooking), Karaoke room, Wine room (with a pool table) and Games Room (actually no games there just a space to play them) So, the only what we were missing there was to have enough time to fully enjoy it all. Just a great deal for under 35€/night. And a good place to safely leave our rented car and our big backpacks in it's boot for couple of days. 10/10

Returning from the Singapore we have stayed at the "normal" place called SK Check Inn (to be also found as SK Homestay). A room just big (small) enough to fit two double beds, private bathroom and aircon. 22€. Budget optimal and clean. 7/10

Those two places are definitely from a different leagues, but both were a good choice for the purpose.
